The skin around your eyes is an area that can crack under the pressure of the sun, so to avoid cracking, it’s important to wear sunscreen every day.
But if your skin isn’t completely protected by sunscreen, a few simple tricks can help protect your eyes.1.
Use a lot of foundation and sunscreenThe foundation you’re using is important to prevent skin from getting too close to the sun and causing it to break out, so make sure you’re getting enough coverage, especially in the shade.2.
Wear a lot more layers than usualAvoid putting too much coverage on your skin to make your skin appear thicker and more defined, and instead choose a lot that you’d wear on a regular basis.
That way you’re not only covering up your pores, but also providing a good barrier to the rest of your skin.3.
Use sunscreen regularlyYou may think you’re just putting on a bit of foundation but a sunscreen like sunblock is really good for protecting your skin and can actually help protect it from getting cracked by the sun.
A couple of days out of the year, apply a bit more sunscreen than normal and you’ll be looking a lot younger, healthier and more radiant.4.
Make sure you moisturiseYour moisturiser is a must for keeping your skin moisturised and will keep your face looking and feeling fresh and supple.
But there are a few ways you can add a little bit of colour and shine to your skin without worrying too much about your makeup.
For example, apply an all-over sunscreen like NARS or Benefit’s BB cream to your face and then apply some face powder and moisturiser to the crease around your nose.
This can add colour and extra texture to your cheeks and lips, and also help to control your skin tone.5.
Apply a gel to your eyes and foreheadYour eyes are one of the few areas where the sun doesn’t affect them as much as the rest.
If you have sensitive skin, however, you may need to use a gel on your eyes to help reduce redness and irritation.
To do this, apply your favourite face cream to a cotton ball and squeeze it around your eye and forehead to create a gel-like effect.
Then, apply it to your eye crease and your forehead, applying the gel at the same time.
This will help seal in the sunscreen and protect your skin against the sun’s rays.
Apply this gel in the morning, and when you need to wear makeup you can use a moisturiser or other face powder to help cover your eye area.6.
Use the right sunscreenYou can also use a good sunscreen with a sunscreen with SPF.
You’ll need to reapply a small amount of sunscreen on the skin every day, so you don’t get any sunburn.
You may need a moisturising spray to apply the sunscreen on your face, so a lotion or facial moisturiser will also be needed.
For a more natural look, try applying the sunscreen to your cheekbones, chin and nose.
You can find the perfect sunscreen for you in the section below, where we explain how to apply sunscreen and how to remove the sunblock.
